Yunyue Zhenjing Sales Center: A Harmonious Blend of Function and Aesthetics

Zhejiang Bo Yue Construction and Decoration's Award-Winning Design Fuses a Sales Office with a Relaxing Bookstore

Yunyue Zhenjing Sales Center, designed by Zhejiang Bo Yue Construction and Decoration, is an innovative space that transcends the traditional concept of a sales office. This unique design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022, merges a sales center with a bookstore, creating a serene environment that invites visitors to linger and enjoy a relaxing time.

The design team drew inspiration from the need for a sales office that doubles as a meeting place. They sought to create a comfortable environment through the exploration of ultimate oriental aesthetics, the pursuit of harmonious light and color, and artistic aesthetics. The result is a sales center that exudes rich oriental charms and integrates light, shadow, and artistic beauty.

Yunyue Zhenjing Sales Center stands out for its scenario-based design technique. The space is dominated by earth tones that evoke a sense of nature. The use of metal materials neutralizes the gentle, soft temperament brought by the abundant wood finishes, adding unique, gorgeous textures to the space. The gray marble floor contrasts with the brownish-red ceiling, making the space distinctive without any visual pressure.

The design team faced the challenge of balancing the functions between the sales office and the bookshop. They adopted rounded arc elements in the soft outfits, which lead to smooth foot traffic in the space, making visitors feel comfortable and at ease. The eternal floral decorations, which can be reused, adorn the space with natural colors.

The square spatial pattern is divided into functional areas by the arcs. A French window on one side incorporates the natural scenery, and sunlight shines through the space to shape the light and shadow. Wooden grids are used for the wall to create a transparent space, and also serve as bookshelves. The irregular foot traffic allows visitors to roam at ease, pick up books at hand to read by the window, enjoy a cup of coffee at the water bar, or accomplish the main purpose of their visit.

Inspired by Niaoya bookstore, the design team wanted to break away from the traditional concept of a sales office and incorporate the atmosphere of a bookstore into the whole space. The wooden grid that encloses the sandbox area is lined with a variety of seeds from the natural ecology, adding to the beauty of the space with its crystal clear appearance.

The design of Yunyue Zhenjing Sales Center takes into account the local customs and culture, incorporating humanistic features and local elements while creating a sense of atmosphere in the online bookstore. The project was located in Zhejiang, China, and was completed in August 2021.
